Recruitment & Outreach (Total Points Possible: 26)


Written Recruitment or Intake Plan (6 points)

  • How to earn points:
    • 6 points for on-time submission of a formal written recruitment or intake plan.
    • 3 points for late submissions (within 14 days)
    • 0 points for late submissions (after 14 days) or no formal written recruitment or intake plan.
    • Note: Contact council-specific advisor in OFSL for questions about the required contents of a formal written recruitment or intake plan.
  • Due Date: July 1 for fall recruitment or intake or January 1 for spring recruitment or intake.
  • How to earn points: IFC/Pan - Email plans to OFSL council advisor; NPHC/MGC - Complete Membership Intake Forms

Outreach Plan (6 points)

  • How to earn points:
    • 3 points per semester for on-time submission of informal recruitment, intake, or outreach plan(s), including Continuous Open Bidding (COB), summer recruitment events, recruitment marketing & outreach efforts.
    • 2 points per semester for late submissions (within 14 days)
    • 1 point per semester for late submissions (after 14 days)
    • 0 points for no informal recruitment, intake, or outreach plan(s).
  • Note: Registering recruitment events, updating websites, social media accounts, etc.
  • Due Date: January 1, May 1 (for summer plans), or August 1
  • How to Submit: Email plans to OFSL council advisor

Recruitment Training Sessions/Roundtables (4 points)

  • How to earn points:
    • 2 points per semester for attending all council-specific recruitment training sessions/roundtables.
    • If mandatory attendance is not met, a chapter can earn 1 or 2 points for having partial attendance.
    • 0 points are given if a chapter does not have representation at council-specific recruitment training sessions/roundtables.
    • Note: If a council does not have a specific recruitment training sessions/roundtables in a semester, the OFSL council advisor may substitute a Presidents’ or 1:1 meeting, etc for this requirement. - Ex: NPHC/MGC Tabling at Interest Meetings and Org Fairs
  • Due Date: Recruitment training sessions/roundtables take place throughout the year.
  • How to Submit: Attendance Tracking by OFSL Staff & Council Exec

New Member Retention (6 points)

  • How to earn points:
    • 3 points per semester for 90-99% new member retention rate for the semester following Initiation.
    • 2 points per semester for 80- 89% new member retention rate for the semester following Initiation.
    • 1 point per semester for 70- 79% new member retention rate for the semester following Initiation.
    • 0 points for less than 69% new member retention rate for the semester following Initiation.
  • Due Date: Rosters are due at the start and end of each semester, refer to OFSL calendar
  • How to Submit: OFSL will maintain records at the beginning of each semester for the prior semester.
    • Submit New Member Withdrawal Form within 14 days of new member dropping.

Summer Orientation Tabling (4 points)

  • How to earn points:
    • 4 points for chapter representative(s) attending all Summer Orientation Tabling sessions.
    • If all Orientation sessions are not attended, a chapter can earn 1 or 2 points for having partial attendance.
    • 0 points for no chapter representative attending Summer Orientation Tabling sessions.
  • Due Date: July 30
  • How to Submit: FSL staff will track.
