Philanthropy or Service Event with a chapter from another council (6 points)

  • How to earn points:
    • 3 points per semester for hosting a Philanthropy or Service Event with a chapter from another council
  • Due Date: May 1 or November 1
  • How to Submit: Cowbell Connect

Additional Community Service Hours per Member (6 pts)

  • How to earn points:
    • 3 points for averaging at least 8 hours of service per member per semester
  • Due Date: May 1 or November 1
  • How to Submit: https://msstate.campuslabs.com/engage/involvement/experiences
  • Note: OFSL will total the number of hours for each semester and divide by the number of chapter members based on grade report rosters to determine the average.

Additional Campus Involvement (6 points)

  • How to earn points:
    • 3 points per semester for >80% of the chapter affiliated with 1 non-Greek student organization.
  • Due Date: May 1 or November 1
  • How to Submit: Cowbell Connect Roster

Campus-Wide Event Participation (6 points)

  • How to earn points:
    • 3 points per semester for 50% of chapter participating as a group in at least one Campus-Wide Event, such as MLK Day of Service, Dance Marathon, The Big Event, Fall Convocation, etc.
  • Due Date: May 1 or November 1
  • How to Submit: Complete SOFE Reporting Form

Ritter Award Attendance (6 points)

  • How to earn points:
    • 6 points for 6 chapter representatives attending the annual Ritter Awards
  • Due Date: within 15 days of Ritter Awards
  • How to Submit: RSVP to Ritter Awards Ceremony

Chapter GPA at or above AMA/AWA (6 points)

  • How to earn points:
    • 3 points per semester for chapter average GPA at or above AMA/AWA
    • Due Date: End of each semester
    • How to Submit: OFSL will track GPA data for each chapter

No Recruitment or Intake Infractions (6 points)

  • How to earn points:
    • 3 points per semester for having no recruitment or intake infractions or fines during the recruitment process
  • Due Date: May 1 or November 1
  • How to Submit: OFSL will track infractions

100% Initiation Rate (6 points)

  • How to earn points:
    • 3 points per semester for 100% initiation rate for chapters who initiate/cross all new members.
  • Due Date: May 1 or November 1
  • How to Submit: OFSL will maintain records

100% New Member Retention Rate (6 points)

  • How to earn points:
    • 3 points for 100% new member retention rate the semester following initiation.
  • Due Date: Rosters are due at the start and end of each semester, refer to OFSL calendar
  • How to Submit: OFSL will maintain records

Award Applications (total points based on number of applications)

  • How to earn points:
    • 1 point per application for an individual or chapter award with a national organization, community organization, etc.
    • 1 point per application for an individual or chapter award for the Ritter Awards.
  • Due Date: April 30 or November 30
  • How to Submit: Submit Ritter Award Application. Upload proof of submission for other awards to SOFE Reporting Form.
  • Note: Maximum of 10 points

Award Recipients (total points based on number of awards received)

  • How to earn points:
    • 1 point for receiving a chapter award from a national, community, or local organization.
    • 1 point for an individual chapter member receiving an award from a national, community, or local organization.
    • Note: Ritter Awards do not count towards this bonus category.
  • Due Date: May 1 or November 1
  • How to Submit: SOFE Reporting Form

Conduct Standings (20 points)

  • How to earn points:
    • Each chapter will start the year with 20 points. For each violation that a chapter is found responsible over the year, points will be deducted.
      • -20 Points for Code of Conduct Violations
    • Due Date: November 1
    • How to Submit: OFSL, in partnership with the Dean of Students’ Office and respective councils, will track conduct standings. Chapters will be notified of point deductions.
    • Note: Based on the timeline of the conduct process, a chapter’s SOFE points can be deducted up until the first day of the following semester. Once a new semester/SOFE cycle begins, Conduct Standing points will be removed from that cycle.

Serve on Regional/National/International Board as a Student Representative (10 Points)

  • How to earn points:
    • Serve as a student representative on a fraternal board at the regional, national, or international level.
    • Due Date: May 1 or November 1
    • How to Submit: SOFE Reporting Form
